Why is paying for the Claude API from Indonesia a hassle?
The official Anthropic console bills in US dollars and asks for an international credit or debit card. Many developers, freelancers and small teams in Indonesia do not have a card that works, or do not want exchange-rate and foreign transaction fees every month.
MaCloud AI offers an API in the same format, but the balance is topped up in Rupiah. You pay by QRIS from any bank or e-wallet app, or by virtual account transfer.
Step by step
- Sign up with email or a Google account.
- Open the console, choose Top-up, enter an amount (minimum Rp 50,000) and pay by QRIS or bank transfer. The balance is added automatically once paid.
- Open API Key, create a new key and copy it.
- In your code or tool, set the base URL to
https://api.macloudai.com(Anthropic format) orhttps://api.macloudai.com/v1(OpenAI format) and use the key. - Set
modelto a model name from the models page.

Prices at MaCloud AI are in Rupiah per 1 million tokens, with input and output charged separately. Conversation content is not stored; only token counts, model name and time are logged for billing.
Keeping your API key safe
- Never put the API key in frontend (browser) code or a public repository. The key is your balance.
- Create a separate key for each project so a leaked one is easy to delete.
- If a key leaks, delete it in the console and create a new one. The old key stops working at once.
